Foraging for Wild Food

Somewhere around here I have Euell Gibbon's "Stalking the Wild Asparagus."  I have had quite an interest in gardening and wild plants ever since I can remember. Now that things are starting to grow, I think Dilara and I will start looking for things we can eat. Last year she ate violet and dandelion leaves. I may cook up some poke sallet, but I do have some reservations. I would not eat it a lot, but it has been eaten in this part of the country every spring by many people who have lived to tell about it.  I think the secret is changing the water 3 times as it cooks. I am learning more about permaculture and I think the more edible plants I can find and use in my yard, the better.
